In Payal Kapadia’s groundbreaking Indian film “All We Imagine as Light,” which took home the esteemed Grand Prix at Cannes 2024, Malayalam actress Divya Prabha steals the show. This accomplishment marks a noteworthy turning point as it became the first Indian film to receive this honour.
Along with Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon, and Azzez Nedumangad, the film explores difficult subjects via a profoundly emotional story. However, a recent online leak of a nude scene from the movie starring Divya Prabha is rapidly gaining popularity.
Despite receiving praise for its masterful cinematography, “All We Imagine as Light” has also generated controversy due to the release of private moments on social networking sites like Reddit and X. Due to their explicit and nude content, these videos have fueled internet searches with terms like “Divya Prabha Original Video Link.”
Two of the most talked-about scenes are the final lovemaking scene in the wilderness and the one where Divya Prabha’s character changes clothes in front of a mirror. Critics disagree about the necessity of the latter, which is depicted delicately.

Onmanorama claims that Divya Prabha has received a lot of criticism for these sequences. She said she had expected similar responses in an interview with Reporter TV
. “I anticipated this. I anticipated this kind of response from some Malayalis. What caught me off guard, though, was how some young people responded to the movie. Since just ten to fifteen per cent of individuals distort the film, I prefer highlighting its good aspects. We might not have the kind of acceptance we had hoped for for a few generations,” she remarked.
How Divya Prabha Brought Attention
ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT is a calm look into the complex lives of a group of Indian women with relatable & moving performances from Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha & Chhaya Kadam. Divya Prabha brought attention to the hypocrisy of local audiences in her home state by drawing parallels to international films. She remarked that Kerala widely celebrated series like Game of Thrones despite their similar scenes. I’m not aware of any controversy about those. The issue arises only when a Keralan actor is involved. People celebrate it when others do it, but they handle it differently when we do.
Despite the criticism, Divya maintains her optimism, pointing out that younger audiences react well to the movie and that their encouragement keeps her upbeat. India received the release of All We Imagine as Light on November 22, 2024.
