Pakistan will face Australia in the fifth and the final ODI on Sunday, March 31, 2019. The match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

The fifth ODI will begin at 4:00 PM PKT, 3:00 PM Local.
Australia is leading the five-match ODI series 4-0, hence the fifth match would be a dead rubber. Australia would want to win this match and solidify their position before the World Cup.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will hope to end the series on a high with a win. With this match, the tour will also come to an end. Some of the Australian players will fly to India for the IPL 2019, while the others will go to Australia and prepare for the World Cup later this summer.

Shoaib Malik Doubtful

Abid Ali, who was selected in the last few minutes before the fourth ODI, ended up scoring a wonderful hundred. He was selected as a replacement of Imam-ul-Haq, who was suffering from high fever. Considering Imam’s form in this series, it is better if he is rested even for the last match.
Pakistan’s captain for this series, Shoaib Malik also missed the previous encounter due to an injury.

Imad Wasim led the side in that match and he might continue leading the Pakistan side if Malik is declared unfit for the last ODI as well. Pakistan bowlers have really struggled in this series so far, so it will be interesting to see what combination do they select in the fifth ODI.

Australia look for a 5-0 whitewash

Keeping in mind the way Australia have played so far in this series, they may not tinker with their top seven. They haven’t changed anything in the four ODIs and they would opt for an unchanged side, aiming for a series whitewash against the hosts.
The pitch in Dubai was dry and the batsmen were able to score runs. As the ball got older, it stopped a bit while coming onto the bat. Considering the team totals of both the innings in the previous match, we can say that the pitch will stay the same. The weather should be clear, without any hindrance of rain during the course of the match.
