The Winter 2025 anime season has begun with the Grisaia Phantom Trigger anime! As Rena, Haruto, and their friends prepare to inflict extrajudicial damage on Japan’s shady underbelly, the most recent chapter in the Grisaia visual novel universe comes to life. First of all, we don’t blame you if you find yourself craving more gun-blazing action in between episodes. Second, you’re protected by us!
Here are three more anime series with more gun-wielding girls you can binge-watch as reported by Otaku Magazine. Get to know these scary women, who range from pirates to criminals to “café” workers!
Black Lagoon
Revy Two-Hand was traveling the world with her group of contemporary pirates almost ten years before the foundations of Grisaia Phantom Trigger were even set. An anime adaptation was released four years after the Black Lagoon manga’s 2002 debut. The show centers on Rock, a former salaryman who became a pirate and works as a translator for the Lagoon Company, a violent gang of mercenaries. Naturally, the one with the gun, Revy, is the most dangerous of them.
Lycoris Recoil
As a visual novel, Grisaia Phantom Trigger has a large following, but video game mastermind Hideo Kojima praised a particular action-packed series! With its strong world-building and narrative, Lycoris Recoil is a stand-alone game. However, the creators of Death Stranding and Metal Gear endorsed the series, which attracted a lot of attention. And there’s no doubt that he’s right.
Michiko & Hatchin
There is an entire organization supporting the girls of Grisaia Phantom Trigger. Sometimes, however, a team consists of just an escaped prisoner and the young girl she saved. That is the central theme of Michiko & Hatchin, an original animation series helmed by Sayo Yamamoto of The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. A high-security jail recently saw Michiko Malandro make yet another audacious escape. However, she abducts Hana, the daughter of her ex-lover, on her way out this time. Michiko might be a better fit for the girl, whom she calls “Hatchin.” She didn’t have the best foster parents.
