With its powerful 135 horsepower, it can get your bullion heists going and chirrup the front tires. An electric drivetrain that you can plug in at home makes all of this possible between meals.

Recently, a fascinating effort revealed the provision of e-conversions for original Mazda MX-5s. In the USA, their electric Jag E-Types are doing quite well. This may be sacrilegious to some, but it’s very pertinent to others.

What’s special about their Mini conversion?

This power train replacement is something you can get online and do yourself, much like a GM “crate V8” in the US. In easy steps: Remove the original subframe and sub-1.0-liter engine, replace the suspension and brakes, and attach a new Electrogenic subframe with an e-motor to your donor Mini.
