Authorities in New Jersey have accused a high school teacher of having a child with a 13-year-old boy, leading to a litany of horrific allegations against her.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced in a press statement on Wednesday that Laura Caron, 34, a fifth-grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School, is accused of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and second-degree endangerment to the welfare of a child.

The child was allegedly abused while living with Caron at her South Jersey home between the ages of 11 and 15.

According to ABC Philadelphia, investigators think Caron encouraged a violent sexual relationship with her pupil during her time as a fifth-grade teacher for him and his sibling.

However, things became much more troubling in 2019 when the victim moved in with Caron, who was 28 at the time, at the age of 13. Authorities suspect the educator fell pregnant with the teen’s child during this period.

Investigators claim that when the victim’s father publicly expressed on Facebook in December 2024 that he believed his kid and Caron’s 5-year-old child resembled each other, the case started to receive attention on social media. For more details, read here.
