Modi Swearing-in ceremony, full cabinet list

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take oath for the 2nd time on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 7 PM IST.

Sushma Swaraj will retain the External Ministry, while Rajnath Singh is also expected to retain his home portfolio. Amit Shah may get the Finance Ministry. Nirmala Sitaraman will also retain her Defence ministry.

His party, the Bharatiya Janata Party thundered in with a massive majority in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Amit Shah to join the top 4

The BJP president Amit Shah who orchestrated the party to a massive win will join the cabinet according to the Times of India.

Other than him, Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani, and many other old-timers are expected to take oath.

This time, many new timers have been given the opportunity to be in the cabinet. One of them is Prahlad Joshi, a four-time MP from Dharwad has got the call to join the cabinet. The posts to these MP’s who will take oath today has not been revealed yet.

In a surprising move, the names of Rajyavardhan Rathore, JP Nadda and Maneka Gandhi are the most glaring omissions in the list so far.

Chief Ministers attending swearing-in

Many state Chief Ministers, including Karnataka’s Kumaraswamy, Nitish Kumar, Devendra Phadnavis will be at the venue.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee wrote to the PM about her inability to join the swearing-in. The reason was that the families of the BJP workers who were killed in the last six years were called to be as special invitees for the function.

Prime Minister of Nepal, KP Sharma Oli arrived in Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of PM Narendra Modi.

The event will be televised live by all the TV news channels in India.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance returned to power with a massive haul of 352 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP won 303 seats on its own.
