Team News:
For South Africa, this will be a tough contest. Their first two outings against England and Bangladesh were unsuccessful and this has become a must-win match for them. In both the matches the bowlers conceded 300+ runs which a matter of concern for the Proteas. South Africa have never won the World Cup and they already earned the infamous ‘chokers’ tag for them. This match will be against the No.2 team, India. To remain in the competition and prove them South Africa need to win the match.
India will be playing their first match of this tournament. Upon BCCI’s request ICC managed the fixture so that the players get at least 15-day rest between IPL and World Cup. Either Virat’s team will be supercharged or the rest can go all wrong for them. They are certainly one of the favourites in this tournament and obviously in this match. There are some injury concerns for Indian side including a finger injury of the captain, Virat Kohli. Otherwise, they look sorted.
Pitch and Weather:
The track is expected to be batting friendly. The last match between Pakistan and England producing 734 runs in 100 overs.
Cloudy weather and one can expect light rain showers. But the chance is really minimal. Overall, a good day for the match!
