Maha Kumbh 2025: Bhutan King and UP CM Yogi Adityanath Perform Rituals

In a historic and spiritually significant moment, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in a puja at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, marking a monumental event at the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 festival.

This year’s Kumbh Mela celebrates the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India, attracting millions of devotees and tourists from around the globe.

As of now, it has been reported that over 7 million people attended the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The event continues to attract large crowds, as it is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

According to The Times of India, both dignitaries arrived at the Triveni Sangam early in the morning to take part in the rituals that are central to the Kumbh Mela. The puja aimed to seek blessings for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of humanity, reflecting the shared spiritual traditions of both nations. King Wangchuck offered prayers at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, considered sacred in Hindu tradition.

In his remarks, Yogi Adityanath expressed, “The presence of the Bhutanese King here today enhances the spirit of unity and peace that Kumbh Mela represents. It is a celebration of our shared beliefs.”

“This event is not just a gathering of faith; it symbolizes our commitment to upholding peace and goodwill across borders,” King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck stated during the puja, highlighting the importance of such spiritual gatherings in fostering ties between India and Bhutan.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, celebrated every twelve years, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, where millions flock to take a dip in the holy waters, believing it purifies the soul and washes away sins.
