Hulu has officially canceled the A Court of Thorns and Roses TV series. Fans had been waiting since 2021, but it is no longer happening.
Disney’s 20th Television was producing the show. Hulu, a Disney-owned platform, has been developing it since March 2021. Sarah J. Maas worked on the script with Outlander creator Ronald D. Moore.
The project faced delays. The writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023 paused almost all scripted productions. There have been no major updates since then.
In February, TVLine confirmed that the show was no longer in development. Hulu also decided not to sell it to other platforms.

Variety later reported that the project was still technically in the works. However, it was no longer active. Disney’s 20th Television still owns the rights until late summer 2025.
For now, the ACOTAR TV series is officially scrapped, reports Dexerto.
Sarah J. Maas released A Court of Thorns and Roses in May 2015. The story follows 19-year-old Feyre Archeron, a skilled huntress.
She kills a faerie wolf in the woods. Soon after, Tamlin, a powerful High Lord, takes her to Prythian. He rules one of Prythian’s seven courts.
Feyre lives in Tamlin’s spring court. Over time, she realizes everything she knew about faeries was false. She learns shocking secrets about their world.
The first book became a huge success. Maas wrote four sequels: A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight, and A Court of Silver Flames.
Fans love the series. Maas confirmed she is working on a sixth book. However, she has not announced a release date yet.
Readers eagerly wait for the next chapter in Feyre’s journey.
