
Uttar Pradesh Police have taken strict action against people selling videos of women at Kumbh Mela 2025. These videos showed women bathing and changing clothes. The police in Prayagraj have registered 13 FIRs. They have also acted against 103 social media accounts involved in the crime.
Officials say criminals used hidden cameras to record women without their consent. They sold these illegal videos on the dark web. People also shared the videos on social media platforms like Facebook, Telegram, and Instagram.
The police have started a detailed investigation. They are tracking every account linked to this crime. They promise to punish everyone responsible.
India TV reports says: The police will take action under sections 79 and 353 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They will also use section 67 of the IT Act. These sections punish online crimes and the sharing of explicit content.
The police are working day and night to stop such activities. They want to protect the safety and dignity of people attending the holy event.
More Social Media Accounts Under Investigation
The Prayagraj Police have found 36 more social media accounts involved in this crime. Some accounts shared fake videos, claiming they were from Kumbh Mela. Police found that many of these videos were actually from Pakistan.
The police are collecting all the details. They will take strict action against every account spreading false or harmful content.
Additional SP Anil Kumar spoke to India TV. He said officers closely watch people recording videos at the Mela. Police verify if the person recording is part of the group. They act immediately if someone looks suspicious.
The police want to create a safe and respectful environment for all devotees. They are making sure no illegal activity disrupts the holy gathering.
