AAP Leader Atishi Accuses BJP of Failing to Deliver on Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
Atishi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and ex-Delhi CM has criticized the BJP-led Delhi government for failing to implement the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
The scheme, which promised to deposit Rs 2,500 into the accounts of eligible women by March 8, has not yet been executed, according to Atishi.
Registration Delays and Unfulfilled Promises
Atishi highlighted that the registration process for the scheme has not started, leaving women uncertain about whether they will receive the promised amount.
“They promised that Rs 2,500 would be deposited into the accounts of women by March 8, but that didn’t happen. The registration has not started yet. Women are not aware if they will get the amount or not,” Atishi stated.

Accusations of Deception
In a scathing remark, Atishi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deceiving the women of Delhi. “PM Modi lied to the women of Delhi. It wasn’t his guarantee but a hoax,” she said. Atishi further claimed that the formation of a committee by the BJP government is a tactic to delay the scheme indefinitely.
BJP’s Response and Scheme Details
The BJP has defended the scheme, stating that it is a step towards fulfilling their promise to provide financial assistance to women.
The Delhi government has allocated Rs 5,100 crore for the scheme and announced that a dedicated portal for registration will be launched soon.
The scheme aims to benefit women from economically weaker sections by providing them with a monthly allowance of Rs 2,500.
Political Reactions and Public Sentiment
The delay in the implementation of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana has sparked political reactions and public sentiment. While the BJP claims that the scheme will soon be operational, the AAP continues to criticize the government for not delivering on its promises.
The women of Delhi are eagerly waiting for the promised financial assistance, and the political debate around the scheme is likely to continue.
