Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reassured the public following a blast outside the Thakurdwara Temple in Amritsar.

Speaking on the incident, Mann stated, “The drones are coming from Pakistan. I want to assure people of Punjab that the state is safe. The police are solving the cases within no time.” His remarks come amidst heightened concerns over security in the region.

This latest incident is being regarded as part of a broader pattern of disturbances linked to cross-border tensions. Officials have pointed toward increasing use of drones to smuggle weapons and drugs, indicating the covert strategies employed by hostile elements.

Blast Outside Temple in Amritsar Leaves Community Unsettled

The blast, which occurred late at night, involved two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle who allegedly lobbed an explosive device at the temple. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and local authorities quickly cordoned off the area to ensure public safety. Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, followed by chaos in the vicinity.

Preliminary investigations revealed signs of external involvement in the attack, heightening concerns over security protocols in the state. Residents living nearby expressed their worries and called for stricter measures to prevent future incidents.

Police Commissioner Links Incident to Pakistan’s ISI

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, in his statement, attributed the attack to efforts by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, to destabilize the region. “We will trace this case within days and take appropriate action,” Bhullar assured the public. He emphasized the critical need for heightened vigilance among citizens and law enforcement agencies, urging communities to report suspicious activities promptly.

Punjab Minister Echoes Confidence in Law and Order

Punjab Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal echoed Bhagwant Mann’s assurance, stating, “The situation is under control. Two people have been identified, and the police are in action; they will be caught within a day.” The minister also highlighted the efficiency of Punjab’s law enforcement in addressing emerging challenges.

Bhagwant Mann Emphasizes Government’s Commitment to Peace

Chief Minister Mann further addressed the broader context of peace in Punjab, noting, “There are always attempts to disturb the peace in Punjab. Drugs, gangsters, extortion are part of it, and there are attempts to show that Punjab has become a disturbed state. But the law and order situation in Punjab is good.” He also underlined the state’s resilience and determination to tackle such threats decisively.

The Punjab government has intensified its efforts to counteract nefarious activities, strengthening border security and deploying additional police forces to vulnerable areas.
