
The Crime Branch of Goa’s police successfully intercepted an illegal betting ring during a raid conducted on April 4. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajesh Kumar, officials received crucial information regarding illicit gambling activities linked to the ongoing cricket match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
Illegal Betting Operation Uncovered
The raid took place in a location identified by crime intelligence, where a significant amount of betting was occurring. “We raided a place where betting was going on over the LSG vs. MI match. Three individuals have been arrested, and they are from Telangana,” DSP Kumar stated. The authorities have registered a case and confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.
The swift action underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat illegal betting activities that pose risks to public safety and the integrity of sports.
