Apoorva Mukhija Returns to Instagram with a Powerful Fresh Start

Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as “The Rebel Kid,” made a bold comeback on Instagram after deleting all her content and photos. The social media influencer received severe criticism for her remarks when she appeared on the show “India’s Got Latent.” Mukhija wiped her profile clean on Instagram amid the controversy.

The Comeback

Apoorva, known for her quirky and sassy content, returned to Instagram on April 8. She shared a collection of screenshots, filled with rape and death threats. She shared multiple screenshots that displayed the abusive comments and hatred she received. Her Post also displayed a content warning “This post contains mentions of acid attacks, rape threats and death threats.” Makhija’s caption highlighted the frequent and widespread abuse she received. The caption read “and it’s not even 1%”.

The Uproar surrounding “India’s Got Latent”

Samay Raina’s controversial show “India’s Got Latent” received severe backlash after the episode, where Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Makhija were invited, was premiered in February. The controversy was fuelled when Ranveer Allahbadia made obscene remarks on parents. The latter later apologized for “misusing” the platform. Several Police complaints were filed against Ranveer, Samay and Apoorva. Makhija was said to have made offensive comments, after which she appeared before the Mumbai Police.

Support from Women and Fans

The Rebel Kid has a massive fanbase of 3 million followers, and after the controversy, many of her fans extended support. Apoorva also received support from women, who said Apoorva took the right step by defending herself. Many called her “Confident” and “Bold.” After today’s post, Makhija received many supportive comments. One user wrote “Idk how you handled everything, but more and more power to you.” Another user commented, “You don’t deserve to suffer. We stand with you and support you. Stay Strong. Only love for you.” Famous YouTuber Gautami Kawale also expressed her disappointment. “As a woman on the internet, this is the worst feeling ever,” she wrote.

Will Apoorva Return?

Amid the criticism, Apoorva wiped off her Instagram profile clean, worrying fans who think she might not return. The Rebel Kid’s posts are often considered humorous and sassy, especially her travel vlogs. However, there is no update on when fans will see their “rebel kid” back.
