According to a report from The State, the proposed casino, named “Palmetto Dream,” is planned for a site near the Georgia-South Carolina border. “This project will not only boost the local economy but also provide a major entertainment option for residents and tourists alike,” said the developer, Mark Thompson. The casino is expected to offer a range of attractions, including gaming, dining, and entertainment venues.

The proposed Palmetto Dream casino plans to include more than 2,000 slot machines and over 100 table games, alongside various restaurants, bars, and a luxury hotel. “We envision a state-of-the-art facility that stands as a testament to the allure of South Carolina’s hospitality,” Thompson added. The developers anticipate that the casino will generate substantial tax revenue for local and state governments, which could be allocated toward infrastructure and public services.
Moreover, the project is projected to create approximately 3,500 jobs during construction and an additional 2,000 permanent positions once operational, significantly contributing to the local economy. “Job creation is a top priority, and we are committed to hiring locally and providing quality employment opportunities,” Thompson stated.
