EXO’s Kai’s first comeback in two years, and he’s here to prove what a talented person he is. The singer made a powerful return as a solo artist with his long-awaited fourth mini album titled “Wait On Me”, and it already looks like he’s off to a promising start.
‘Wait On Me’ – Success
Within hours of its release, the mini album shot to the top of iTunes Charts all around the world. Within a day, the mini album had hit No.1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least twenty-three different regions.
The 31-year-old artist released the seven-track album on Monday. This is his first release following his time away for mandatory military service.
Ahead of the release, Kai was seen making appearances in several interviews and shows for promotion. For Adult Swim, Kai reveals it’s a meaningful track to him and if he were Kai from a few years ago, he might not have chosen this track.
Because of his time away, his experiences, and his life, he chose the song. The song clearly shows his mindset throughout those two years.
‘Wait On Me’ – In Seoul
On 21st April, Kai returned to the stage with the official showcase for “Wait On Me,” in Seoul. The event was filled with emotions, bringing fans to tears and forcing the singer to break down as he expressed his feelings for his supporters.
Throughout the event, the emotions were running at an all-time high, but the peak of it came during a heartfelt speech the singer made towards the end of the event. He thanked his fans with a steady voice, but soon, he broke down in tears.
Once composed, he turned to his fans to say he wasn’t crying. Furthermore, he requested them to be quiet so he could show the music video for Wait On Me, before performing the last song of the event.
Wait On Me not only marks the singer’s comeback, but also promises a new and more mature era in his solo career, and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!
