The Industry is Alive with Chatter Following Paresh’s Step Down from “Hera Pheri 3”
Rawal, who was supposed to go back to his famed character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, had already accepted a ₹15 crore offer for the movie. However, a term in the contract which stipulated that he would get the remaining amount of ₹14.89 crore only after the film’s release triggered his exit.
Because the movie’s main shooting is set for next year and is planned to be released somewhere between 2026 and 2027, Rawal would have encountered an extensively prolonged wait for complete payment.
Industry Response and Legal Considerations
Akshay Kumar’s production house was quick to respond to Rawal’s departure by filing a lawsuit for ₹25 crore, which arose from damages they claimed were inflicted by him. Fans and insiders from the industry have been left pondering about the fate of the franchise after Rawal’s shocking exit. His costar Suniel Shetty could not contain his shock and said, “My world seems to have turned upside down.” reported HT.
A Franchise That Defined Bollywood Comedy
With the first part released in 2000 and the sequel Phir Hera Pheri in 2006, the Hera Pheri franchise cemented its position as one of the most iconic Bollywood pieces of comedy. Rawal’s portrayal of Baburao re Baap has enabled him to cement his status as one of India’s top comic actors.
