Google has released Veo 3, an AI video generation tool that is taking the Internet by storm, just as ChatGPT did before it. Introduced at Google I/O 2025, Veo 3 has shocked users with ultra-realistic videos based on nothing but text prompts.
Furthermore, unlike past iterations of AI-generated videos, Veo 3 allows for natural dialogue, soundtracks, and special effects, making it nearly impossible to differentiate Veo 3 AI-generated clips from real video clips.
Price
Veo 3 was launched at Google I/O on Tuesday and is now available (in the US) to Google AI Ultra subscribers for $249 a month.
This tool allows users AI-generated video in HD, a robust script-to-video planning feature, and integration with Google’s creative suite capabilities. It has substantial potential for filmmakers, marketers, and online creators.

Veo 3’s Hyper-Realistic AI Video Spark Discussion
Veo 3’s launch has sparked conversations about the future of synthetic media, and while many users and enthusiasts are excited about the new opportunities for content creation, others have expressed concerns over misinformation.
One post on X went viral for tapping into the sense of unease growing amongst many people, which read “General population is cooked. You can literally create news clips with Veo-3 now, what’s even real anymore?.
Google’s AI Video Tool Raises Ethical Questions
Experts have voiced serious concerns about the potential for Veo 3’s misuse, considering it can generate cinematic-quality videos (indistinguishable from their real-life counterparts).
After filmmaker Dave Clark played around with the tool, he said, “It feels almost like it’s building upon itself,” as it implements natural sounds and effects to match the displayed image.
AI analyst Ethan Mollick said the tool puts a new spin on marketing and media but questions authorship and consent.
