Sanjay Dutt returns to Yerawada Jail after parole ends

Actor Sanjay Dutt left for Jail on Oct 30, 2013 after his furlough ended today. Sanjay was given a total of 30 day leaves on parole and he returned to jail on Tuesday to serve the rest of the jail term. His wife Maanyata Dutt was seen accompanying the actor to jail.

Speaking to PTI, the actor thanked media for letting him be in privacy as per his request. He told that he still has problem in his legs but it is better. He asked fans to pray for his release soon and wished everyone a Happy Diwali.

The 53-year-old actor had to undergo treatment for blood clots in his legs. Sanjay Dutt was given a 14 day parole on medical grounds which were later extended for another two weeks on his request.

The actor was found guilty of possessing firearms illegally during 1993 Bombay blasts. In May this year, he surrendered before a special TADA court in Mumbai.

The actor had been sentenced to five years jail by Supreme Court. He was shifted to Yerawada jail in Pune to serve the rest of his term. Sanjay has already served 18 months jail term and is currently serving the remaining 42 months.
