‘Kaiju No. 8’ Season 2 Teases

The countdown is on for the return of ‘Kaiju No. 8’, as Season 2 premieres July 19, 2025, with a brand-new trailer that’s already stirring excitement across the anime community.

Produced by Production I.G, the new season introduces fresh visuals, intense battles, and a surprise musical collaboration: the ending theme, titled ‘Beautiful Colors’, is performed by OneRepublic, marking a rare crossover between Western pop and Japanese anime.

The trailer, titled “The Will Lives On”, showcases Kafka Hibino’s evolution as Kaiju No. 8, teasing high-stakes confrontations and the arrival of Gen Narumi, Japan’s strongest anti-kaiju warrior.

The animation, once again supervised by Studio Khara for creature designs, blends urban destruction with emotional depth.

“We wanted the ending theme to reflect Kafka’s inner struggle and hope,” said OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder in a behind-the-scenes clip. “It’s a song about resilience and transformation.”
