‘You and Idol Precure♪’ Movie Trailer Drops Ahead of September 12 Release

‘You and Idol Precure♪’ Hits Theaters in Japan on September 12

The magical girl universe is getting ready to sparkle again. The main trailer for the upcoming anime film ‘You and Idol Precure♪’ has officially been released, confirming its theatrical debut across Japan on September 12, 2025.

The film stars Misato Matsuoka as Cure Idol/Uta Sakura, Minami Takahashi as Cure Wink/Nana Aokaze, and Natsumi Takamori as Cure Kyun-Kyun/Kororo Shigure. Directed by Chiaki Kon, the movie continues the vibrant legacy of the Pretty Cure franchise with its 22nd main installment.

The trailer teases a dazzling stage set on AiAi Island, where the “#1 Idol Festival in the Universe” is about to unfold. But not everything is glitter and glam—mysterious monsters and an idol-hating character named Terra threaten to dim the lights.

“I want to sparkle! With my song!” declares Uta Sakura in the trailer, setting the tone for a story that blends music, courage, and transformation.

‘You and Idol Precure♪’ Cast Brings Star Power and Nostalgia

The film reunites beloved characters from ‘Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure’ and ‘Wonderful Precure!’, alongside five new magical heroines: Cure Idol, Cure Wink, Cure Kyun-Kyun, Cure Zukyun, and Cure Kiss. Each character brings a unique personality and power, promising dynamic team chemistry and emotional depth.

Director Chiaki Kon, known for ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal’, leads the project with scriptwriter Yoichi Kato (‘Aikatsu!’) and character designer Miho Sugimoto. The music, composed by Erika Fukasawa and Misaki Umase, features the theme song “HiBiKi Au Uta”, which plays throughout the trailer.

Plot for ‘You and Idol Precure♪’

Set in a universe where music restores lost sparkle, the story follows Uta Sakura, a middle schooler who transforms into Cure Idol to save the fairy world of Kirakiland from the villainous Chokkiri Gang.

“This is the most colorful Precure movie yet,” said a fan during the trailer premiere livestream. “It feels like a concert and a battle rolled into one.”

With the idol festival under threat, the team must harmonize their powers to protect both worlds. Limited-edition gifts for attendees and cross-promotions with streaming platforms like Crunchyroll are likely to boost visibility.
