‘Battle of Galwan’ Is Physically Demanding, Says Salman Khan — Jan 2026 Release

Salman Khan Calls ‘Battle of Galwan’ Physically Demanding as 2026 Launch Nears

Bollywood heavyweight Salman Khan has confirmed that his next momentous release, ‘Battle of Galwan’, will hit theaters across India and overseas in January 2026. The film dramatizes one of the most emotionally charged military incidents in recent Indian history—the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.

In a recent interview, Khan revealed, “It is physically demanding, yes—but emotionally, it’s even heavier. This isn’t just another role. It’s about representing the valor and sacrifice of real soldiers.”

Directed by Kabir Raj, known for his work on ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘Ek Tha Soldier’, the film blends raw combat realism with heartfelt storytelling.

The production is being backed by Yashraj Combat Studios, with filming taking place in Ladakh and recreated Himalayan terrains in Himachal Pradesh.

‘Battle of Galwan’ Cast: Salman Khan Heads a Tough-as-Nails Ensemble

At the forefront is Salman Khan, portraying Colonel Arvind Rawat, a fictional character modeled after real-life Indian Army officers. Joining him is Vikrant Massey as a young field medic and Dino Morea in the role of a hardened sub-commander navigating diplomacy and combat.

Fatima Sana Shaikh plays a war reporter embedded with the unit—her arc promises emotional depth and a civilian perspective. Veteran actor Anupam Kher is cast as Brigadier Shastri, providing both leadership and gravitas in tense military briefings.

The ensemble is rounded off by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Satyajeet Dubey, and Akshay Oberoi, each portraying diverse roles across the military spectrum.

‘Battle of Galwan’ Plot & Box Office Predictions

The story centers on a 72-hour operation leading up to the real-life June 15, 2020 clash. Blending fictional dialogue with verified military events, the film traces battalion-level decisions, terrain adaptation, and personal sacrifice.

Given Salman Khan’s star power and the patriotic undertone, industry analysts expect the film to break early 2026 box office records, especially around India’s Republic Day weekend. The studio anticipates a first-weekend gross exceeding ₹100 crore domestically, with international military and diaspora audiences contributing to global traction.
