Archita Phukan or Amira Ishtara? The Influencer Who May Never Have Existed

“Archita or Amira

In the wake of one of India’s most disturbing deepfake scandals, Assamese influencer Archita Phukan, known online as Babydoll Archi, has broken her silence, not with a denial, but with a cryptic Instagram story that has only deepened the mystery surrounding her identity.

Archita Phukan Targeted in Deepfake Scam

“I haven’t confirmed anything. And I’m not here to deny it either. Some paths are private. Some moves are strategic. And some stories are best told in chapters — not captions,” she wrote.

The post comes days after her ex-boyfriend, Pritam Bora, was arrested for allegedly creating and selling AI-generated explicit content using Archita’s likeness.

Police say Bora used tools like Midjourney and OpenArt AI to fabricate images and videos, including one featuring adult film star Kendra Lust, earning over ₹10 lakh in the process.

Is Archita Real or AI-Generated?

Some experts believe Archita’s entire online identity may have been created using AI tools, meaning she might not even be a real person.

She recently changed her Instagram name to Amira Ishtara, making people wonder if she’s trying to hide her past or start fresh.

Cybercrime officials say this case proves India needs stronger laws to fight deepfake technology and digital identity theft.

While Archita has filed a formal complaint and changed her Instagram name to Amira Ishtara, her handle @babydoll_archi remains active, now boasting over 1.1 million followers.

The influencer’s silence on whether she is a real person or an AI-generated persona has sparked intense speculation across social media and news outlets.

Cyber experts warn that India’s current laws, including Sections 66C, 66E, and 67 of the IT Act, may be insufficient to tackle such advanced digital impersonation.

Legal voices are calling for urgent reforms to address the growing threat of AI-driven identity theft and revenge porn.
