National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Doon University Forge Strategic Partnership to Drive Innovation and Commercialization

Dehradun, July 28, 2025 — The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Doon University have formally entered a transformative partnership aimed at fostering research, innovation, and technology commercialization in Uttarakhand.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed at Raj Bhawan, in the presence of Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh, Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, who hailed the initiative as a momentous step aligned with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat.

Paving the Way for R&D and Startups

This collaboration opens new doors for:

  • Accelerated R&D outcomes and product development
  • Formation of startups based on university-led innovation
  • Stronger industry-academia synergy

The NRDC will provide Doon University with critical support in patent filing, IP monetization, and market linkages, enabling student and faculty research to evolve into tangible tech solutions.

 Strategic Vision for Uttarakhand

Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh emphasized the state’s potential to emerge as a vibrant innovation hub and urged other universities to adopt similar models.

“This MoA reflects the spirit of Amrit Kaal—a time to harness youth potential, bridge academic excellence with commercial application, and fuel Uttarakhand’s rise in innovation,” said Governor Singh during the ceremony.

This partnership also creates a replicable roadmap for tech-driven economic development across India.
