Italian actress Matilda Lutz steps into the role of the fiery barbarian warrior, donning the heroine’s iconic chainmail bikini—symbolic of both oppression and empowerment.
Shared on the film’s official Instagram accounts, the images show Lutz fully embracing the Dynamite Entertainment version of Sonja, a departure from the original Marvel depiction.
As Lutz explained in an exclusive with USA Today, “The bikini is used as an element of power that the emperor has over her… but then she owns it.”
Slated for a limited theatrical release on August 13, followed by a likely digital drop on August 29, the film promises brutal combat and unapologetic rebellion.
