
August 1, 2025 — Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar rushed to the Yavat village in Pune on Friday after local tensions erupted over an allegedly objectionable social media post.
The post, reportedly made by a youth from the village, triggered sharp reactions from residents and nearby communities, sparking police action and high-level political intervention.
A video shared by ANI shows Pawar arriving at the scene and interacting with those affected. “We are here to listen and resolve matters peacefully,” he said during a brief interaction captured on camera.
The Pune Rural Police have registered an FIR and detained the individual accused of posting the controversial content. Officials are monitoring social media activity and deploying extra forces to prevent escalation.

Ajit Pawar’s visit included closed-door meetings with village elders, local law enforcement, and families directly impacted. He emphasized maintaining law and order while promising a full investigation.
