CM Siddaramaiah highlighted the importance of infrastructure in driving economic

Bengaluru, August 18, 2025 — In a major push to decongest Bengaluru’s traffic, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar inaugurated the newly constructed Hebbal flyover today.

The 700-meter-long elevated corridor, built at a cost of ₹80 crore, connects KR Puram to Mekhri Circle via Hebbal Junction—one of the city’s most notorious traffic bottlenecks.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Ministers Krishna Byre Gowda and Byrathi Suresh, and BDA Chairman M. L. Anantha Reddy.

The event marked a significant milestone in the state government’s ongoing efforts to modernize Bengaluru’s transport infrastructure.

Strategic Impact on Traffic Flow

The Hebbal flyover is expected to streamline vehicular movement across North Bengaluru, especially for commuters traveling from the eastern tech hubs toward the city’s arterial roads.

With thousands of vehicles passing through Hebbal Junction daily, the new flyover is projected to reduce travel time and ease congestion during peak hours.

Government’s Vision for Urban Mobility

CM Siddaramaiah highlighted the importance of infrastructure in driving economic growth and improving quality of life.

“This flyover is not just concrete and steel—it’s a symbol of our commitment to building a smarter, faster, and more connected Bengaluru,” he said.

DyCM DK Shivakumar added, “We are investing in long-term solutions that address the city’s growing traffic demands. The Hebbal flyover is one of many projects aimed at transforming Bengaluru into a world-class urban center.”

Public Reception and Future Plans

Local residents and commuters have welcomed the move, expressing hope that the flyover will bring much-needed relief.

The government also hinted at upcoming infrastructure projects, including underpasses and signal-free corridors, to further enhance connectivity.
