
Mumbai, August 18, 2025 — Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid a courtesy visit to Governor CP Radhakrishnan today at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, reaffirming the state’s commitment to cultural preservation and historical scholarship.
Earlier in the day, at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, CM Fadnavis, accompanied by Minister for Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, presented the Governor with a rare book containing unpublished letters written by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The gesture was part of a broader initiative to honor Maharashtra’s rich Maratha heritage and bring lesser-known historical documents into public awareness.

The unpublished letters offer a glimpse into the strategic mind and visionary leadership of Shivaji Maharaj, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
Governor Radhakrishnan expressed deep appreciation for the gift, noting its historical value and the importance of preserving such treasures for future scholars and citizens.

Minister Ashish Shelar emphasized that the book is part of a larger archival project aimed at digitizing and publishing rare manuscripts and correspondences from the Maratha era.
“This is not just a book—it’s a bridge to our past, and a beacon for our future,” he said.
The meeting between the CM and Governor also touched upon upcoming cultural initiatives, including exhibitions, educational outreach, and collaborations with historical research institutions.
