In a dramatic escalation of their ongoing family tensions, former “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans has publicly addressed the explosive text messages leaked by her 16-year-old son, Jace Evans, who accused her of being “unstable” and vowed to expose “how my mother really is.”
The leaks, shared on social media, have reignited scrutiny over Evans’ parenting and her turbulent relationship with her eldest child. The controversy erupted on Tuesday when Jace posted screenshots of private conversations with his mother, highlighting heated exchanges that included profanity, threats, and references to past allegations of abuse.
In one message, Jace expressed frustration, telling Evans, “I don’t need you, you don’t need me and I don’t understand why ur doing this just because I’m telling the truth. Ur crazy.”
Evans allegedly replied bluntly: “Your[e] the one saying you’re going to have my custody taken. F**K YOU.”
Another exchange delved into darker territory, with Evans accusing Jace of fabricating claims about her ex-husband, David Eason, who is facing felony charges for allegedly assaulting Jace in 2023.
Evans wrote, “Just like the way you lied about David strangling you. You make things worse on yourself.”

Jace pushed back, insisting, “I never lied. He tried to do [that s**t].”
Evans claimed she had evidence, stating, “I was standing right there and have the Ring camera videos,” before adding, “But go ahead and test me.”
In a third screenshot, Evans appeared to threaten Jace with consequences, writing, “So keep it up and I’ll make ONE phone call,” and “You won’t get a damn thing from me anymore including a phone.”
Jace responded curtly: “Got it.”
Accompanying the posts, Jace captioned one with, “I am finally putting out how my mother really is,” and another declaring, “I need to go back to NC. She is just r[ea]lly unstable.”
He also mentioned not caring about his siblings but prioritizing his “health and living situation,” signaling deep dissatisfaction with his current environment in Las Vegas, where he lives with Evans after a failed attempt to send him to live with his father, Andrew Lewis, in Florida.
Hours after the leaks surfaced, Evans fired back on Instagram and Facebook, framing the incident as a reaction to discipline amid Jace’s recent troubles.
“Jace posting our private texts was his reaction to being rightfully disciplined,” she wrote. “While it hurts to see those moments shared publicly, I know it comes from a place of struggle. Navigating Jace’s different medical diagnoses has not been easy but I have never started fighting to make sure he has the resources, love and support he needs… I will always stand by Jace, no matter what challenges come our way and I will continue to work on being the best mom I can be to all three of my kids.”
Evans elaborated in a follow-up post, revealing Jace’s recent legal issues and her efforts to help: “Recently he’s also been in trouble with the law these past few months and is having a hard time adjusting to the rules set before him. I’ve been trying everything to help him navigate it, but we are butting heads in the process. Please give us grace at this time. This is hard on all of us.”
She also pleaded for “empathy, kindness and prayers” from her followers.
The mother-son rift has deep roots. Jace, diagnosed with ADHD, major depressive disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder, has run away multiple times, leading to police involvement and stints in treatment facilities.
Previously under the custody of Evans’ mother, Barbara Evans, Jace returned to Jenelle’s care amid allegations of abuse by Eason, who denies the claims and awaits trial in January 2026.
Evans has faced backlash for her parenting, including frequent outings with friend Tori Rhyne while critics accuse her of prioritizing her social life.
In separate leaks shared by Jace, he expressed broader despair, stating, “I hate it here I hate my life,” “Y’all treat me like shit,” and “I’m so tired of this family,” while claiming, “Y’all only care about yourselves.”
Evans responded directly to these accusations, saying, “Wow, Jace. I’m so disappointed in you. Leaking private family matters to the press is unacceptable,” and added, “We were trying to help you, and this is how you repay us? By making us look bad to the media?”
