York, UK – August 26, 2025 – BBC sports presenter Emma Louise Jones made headlines at the York Races this weekend, but not just for her stunning outfit.
The 35-year-old faced a funny wardrobe malfunction when a gust of wind blew her hat off just minutes into her appearance, leaving her laughing it off.
Jones, known for her work on BBC’s MOTDx and Leeds United TV, was presenting for Raceday TV at the popular North Yorkshire event.
She wore a beautiful long polka dot dress with a deep neckline and white heels, earning tons of compliments from fans online. Her look was a hit, but the wind had other ideas.
Before heading to the races, Jones shared a video on Instagram and TikTok, where she has over 400,000 followers. She showed off her dress and held up a matching hat, asking fans if she should wear it.
“I’m not usually a hat girl, I don’t feel that confident in them, but this one matches my outfit,”
she said excitedly. “Hat or no hat? What do we reckon?” Fans loved it, with comments like, “You look fabulous, Emma!” and “That dress is amazing!”
Even though she wasn’t sure about the hat, Jones decided to wear it. But just two minutes into her coverage, a strong wind blew it away! “I’ve been here two minutes… and the hat’s blown off!” she laughed, as seen in viral clips online. Her quick humor turned the moment into a fun highlight.
Social media lit up with support. Fans called her “gorgeous” and praised her for handling the mishap so well. The clip of her hat flying off went viral, getting thousands of views.
Jones, who’s covered big football and rugby matches, is no stranger to small slip-ups. She’s had funny moments before, like ripping her gym leggings, but always keeps her cool.
The York Races are a big summer event in the UK, and Jones’ mishap stole the show. She later posted, “Another great day presenting!” showing she wasn’t fazed. Fans loved her confidence in the bold dress.
