Manga fans are in for a surprise! Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, is teaming up with Cypher Academy illustrator Yuji Iwasaki for a brand-new manga titled “Mimojuro.” The series will begin its short-term serialization in next week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, according to early reports.
While Shueisha has yet to make a formal announcement, the title appeared in the magazine’s table of contents, confirming its debut. The collaboration marks Akutami’s first new project since Jujutsu Kaisen wrapped up in 2024, and fans are buzzing with anticipation.
“Mimojuro” is expected to blend Akutami’s dark storytelling with Iwasaki’s sharp, puzzle-driven art style. Though plot details remain under wraps, early speculation suggests a psychological thriller or supernatural mystery—genres both creators excel in.

Akutami, born in 1992, rose to fame with Jujutsu Kaisen, which sold over 80 million copies worldwide and inspired multiple anime seasons and a blockbuster film. Iwasaki, known for his work on Cypher Academy, brings a cerebral edge to his illustrations, often weaving logic and cryptography into his panels.
