Watch: Monica Barbaro’s Dior Gown Catches Wind at Venice Film Festival

Venice, Sept 1, 2025 – Actress Monica Barbaro had a brief but graceful moment on the red carpet at the Venice International Film Festival when a sudden gust of wind caused her Christian Dior gown to billow unexpectedly.

The incident occurred on August 29 during the premiere of After the Hunt, starring Barbaro’s boyfriend Andrew Garfield. As she posed for photographers, a strong breeze lifted the pleated overlay of her black gown, creating a balloon-like effect. Barbaro quickly adjusted the fabric and smiled, unfazed by the mishap.

“She handled it like a pro,” noted one onlooker. “No panic, just poise.”

The Oscar-nominated actress wore a black slip beneath the gown, ensuring no exposure. Her look featured a high-neck, drop waist, and ribbon detailing, paired with minimal accessories—just earrings and a single ring.

Barbaro, 35, attended the event to support Garfield, 42, who stars in Luca Guadagnino’s latest film. Though she does not appear in After the Hunt, the couple is set to collaborate with Guadagnino on his upcoming project Artificial.

The pair, romantically linked since February, were also photographed arriving in Venice hand-in-hand. While neither has publicly confirmed their relationship, they’ve been spotted together at several events this year, including Wimbledon.

Barbaro’s appearance in Venice adds to her growing reputation for red carpet elegance. Earlier this year, she turned heads at the Met Gala in a Dior recreation of the 1947 New Look design.
