Moordrecht, Netherlands — September 24, 2025 – A dramatic video showing Dutch entrepreneur Oscar Gräper rescuing luxury cars from a fire has resurfaced online, reigniting public outrage months after the incident first occurred.

The footage, originally captured on May 17, 2025, shows Gräper—owner of Gräper Automotive, a high-end dealership near Rotterdam—racing against flames to save over ten exotic vehicles, including Ferraris, Audis, and AMGs. As smoke billowed from a neighboring building, Gräper was seen removing bollards and personally driving out cars one by one, including a Ferrari 812 Superfast, Audi RS Q8, and Mercedes-AMG GT R2.

But what began as a heroic effort quickly turned chaotic. Police officers on the scene deemed his actions “too dangerous” and forcibly restrained him. One officer deployed pepper spray directly into Gräper’s face, and he was handcuffed and detained despite firefighters reportedly cooperating with him3.

Gräper later posted on Instagram:

“Pepper spray, on your knees, and being taken away in handcuffs—is that really the solution?”

The video, which had already circulated in May, went viral again this week after being shared by popular social media accounts like Dudes Posting Their W’s, racking up over 1 million views in just hours.

Public reaction has been swift, with many praising Gräper’s courage and criticizing the police response as excessive. Commenters across platforms are calling him a “real-life action hero” and questioning the judgment of the officers involved.

Despite the chaos, no vehicles were lost, and the fire was contained thanks to swift action by emergency services—and Gräper himself.
