Dehradun, Oct 4, 2025 — Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) General Secretary Adhava Arjuna arrived in Dehradun on Saturday to attend the National Sub-Junior Basketball Tournament, even as controversy swirls around his deleted social media post following the Karur stampede.
Speaking to ANI, Arjuna stated, “We are working for justice. Truth will come out.” His remarks come amid a case registered against him for allegedly inciting unrest through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he called for a “Nepal and Sri Lanka-like uprising” in Tamil Nadu. The post, which urged youth to “revolt” against the ruling government, was deleted after backlash but continues to circulate online.
The legal case against Arjuna includes multiple sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and follows the tragic stampede on September 27 in Karur, which claimed 41 lives during a TVK rally led by actor-politician Vijay.

Meanwhile, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has denied anticipatory bail to several TVK leaders, including Anand and C.T.R. Nirmalkumar, in connection with the incident. The court also questioned the party’s failure to manage the crowd, citing damage to public property and unruly behavior by cadres.
As Arjuna maintains his public engagements, the political fallout from the Karur tragedy continues to deepen — with legal scrutiny, public outrage, and social media debate intensifying around TVK’s leadership and accountability.
