Jesy Nelson opens up about leaving 'Little Mix'

Little mix is a British-based girl band formed during the X-factor (UK) eighth season in 2011. Since then, the band has been celebrated worldwide and has sold out about 60 million records worldwide. Being the first-ever group to have won the “X-Factor,” the girls got fame instantly, and so did they respect it with their hard work and passion for music. Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are now the three members of one of the best girl bands in the world. Jesy Nelson had also been there for the last nine years but left the group in December 2020. Why and what happened was unknown till she finally opened up in an interview with the Cosmopolitan UK, according to news24.com.

Jesy’s views on leaving the band:

In the interview, Jesy Nelson has mostly spoken of her confidence level. She mentioned how she used to rate her confidence nine or even 10 out of 10 before joining the band. After the group’s formation, she had often compared herself with the other members and has felt low. Her looks had often put her to worry about being in front of the camera. At times she even had been depressed about gaining weight.

All these put her to think of a competition going on somewhere, somehow. She felt all of these happenings were normal, but she was only getting doomed with a battle going on in her mind. She now states her confidence level to be 8.5 out of 10 after having left the band. The “Sweet Melody” video was the one after which she had decided to leave the girls to run the group without her.

The former member of the quartet has nothing against her beloved team. The team has always supported her decision. The other three girls had previously mentioned how much they would miss Jesy, but they would let her follow her wish since her mental health is supposed to be a priority. It has always been the fans or others who had compared amongst the girls, which seems to have made Jesy feel miserable at times, finally deciding to leave.

Her new life:

Jesy has mentioned getting back to a healthy mental state. She now feels free and happy, and gaining weight doesn’t trouble her anymore since she won’t be compared to anyone now. She is eager about making new songs of her choice, and now she is not bound to make something she won’t listen to as her type of music.

She is her own master now and is rising with confidence and eager to show her kind of music and the best and real version of herself to the world. Meanwhile, the trio now is also making their type of music. These girls have always been such great friends and a group whose friendship is still now cherished. I wish they do what makes them happy and evolve as great singers and human beings with complete happiness.
