Ayodhya’s Festival of Lights Shines with Record-Breaking Diyas
On October 19, 2025, Ayodhya became a dazzling spectacle as Deepotsav 2025 illuminated the Saryu River’s banks. Over 28 lakh earthen diyas glowed across 56 ghats at Ram ki Paidi, aiming to secure a ninth consecutive Guinness World Record.
Organized by the Uttar Pradesh government, this grand Diwali celebration drew thousands of devotees dressed in vibrant saffron, red, and white, honoring Lord Ram’s triumphant return to his sacred birthplace.
Around 30,000 volunteers, including 40 potter families, handcrafted and arranged the diyas, transforming the riverfront into a mesmerizing sea of lights. The event blended ancient traditions with modern flair, featuring laser shows and drone displays that left spectators in awe.
The evening’s centerpiece was a soul-stirring Saryu aarti, performed by 2,100 Vedacharyas chanting in harmony, their voices resonating with devotion. Social media buzzed with reactions like “GOOSEBUMPS” and “Jai Shri Ram,” capturing the event’s emotional and spiritual depth.
