However, skipper Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings with a crucial 100-run partnership. Both reached half-centuries before falling in quick succession.

At 226/8, India looked in danger of folding cheaply, but a gritty 37-run ninth-wicket stand between Harshit Rana (24 off 18) and Arshdeep Singh (13 off 14) pushed the total to 264.
Australia Begin Chase Cautiously
Chasing 265, Australia opened with Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh. Both batsmen started cautiously against the new-ball pair of Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh.
At the time of reporting, Australia were 4/0 in 1.3 overs, requiring 261 more runs at a required rate of 5.38.
With seam movement on offer under lights, India’s pacers will look to replicate the early success of their Australian counterparts. The match promises to be a tight contest as both sides eye a crucial win in the three-match series.
