UPSC Civil Services 2021 preliminary exam postponed, new dates

According to India today, the preliminary exams for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services 2021 have been postponed this year due to the coronavirus disease outbreak. The new date is yet to be marked in full confirmation. The probable date mentioned is October 10, 2021. Everything now depends on the number of cases recorded in our country for the next few months. The date previously announced was June 27, 2021, but it has been risky for those taking the exam and those conducting it. Thus, the postpone has been decided.

Other exams canceled:

The UPSC had postponed the Service Commission exams the last year too. The prior date of the 2020 exam was May 31, 2020, which was postponed to October 4, 2020. Other exams are also previously postponed by UPSC. Exams like the selection of enforcement officers in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization were previously scheduled for May 9, 2021. This has been recently postponed, and the new dates are yet to be declared. The Combined Medical Services exam registrations were supposed to begin on May 5; this too has been postponed. The UPSC has promised that they will be looking into the matter, and whenever the dates are confirmed, the candidates appearing for the exams will be given prior notice at least 15 days before the respective exams.

About UPSC:

The examination for recruiting the various civil services of the government area began about 99 years ago in 1922. It is considered the most challenging exam conducted in India and ranks to be the second toughest examination globally. The exam is conducted in two different languages, Hindi and English. Thus, the exam’s value is huge, and lakhs of students rush to the exam centers each year to qualify and serve the nation.

Though the new notice for the postponement would play havoc on the minds of the aspirants, it will also give them more time to prepare for the exams and crack them with more confidence.
