NDA Takes Early Lead
Initial figures from the Election Commission indicate that the NDA is ahead in more than 120 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan trails with around 90. The BJP and JD(U) candidates are performing strongly in urban constituencies, while RJD maintains its base in rural areas. According to NDTV, “The NDA has surged past the halfway mark in early trends, but the final picture will emerge only by afternoon.”
Tejashwi Yadav Ahead in Raghopur
Tejashwi Yadav, contesting from Raghopur, is leading by over 5,000 votes in the first round of counting. Raghopur has historically been a stronghold for the Yadav family, and this early lead strengthens RJD’s morale.
Party workers celebrated outside the counting center, chanting slogans in support of their leader. As one supporter told reporters, “Raghopur is Tejashwi ji’s bastion, and we are confident he will win with a big margin.”
High Voter Turnout
The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 recorded a voter turnout of nearly 62%, reflecting strong public participation. Analysts believe the high turnout could benefit opposition parties in certain regions, though the NDA’s organizational strength remains a decisive factor. Women voters, in particular, turned out in large numbers, continuing a trend seen in past elections.

The results will decide whether Nitish Kumar continues as Chief Minister or if Tejashwi Yadav’s Mahagathbandhan can stage a comeback.
