Bollywood filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has candidly admitted that her YouTube journey has brought in more money than she has ever earned in her long film career.

Speaking in a recent conversation with Soha Ali Khan, Farah described her earnings from vlogging as “massive,” adding that she had “not made so much money in my entire career.”

From films to vlogs

Farah Khan, known for directing blockbusters like ‘Main Hoon Na’ and choreographing countless hit songs, ventured into YouTube in 2024.

Her channel quickly gained traction with cooking vlogs and behind‑the‑scenes glimpses of her life.

Interestingly, her longtime cook Dilip became an unexpected star, appearing regularly in her videos and winning over audiences with his relatable personality.

Income that surpasses film earnings

In her discussion, Farah emphasized the scale of her YouTube success. “In my entire career, maybe in a year, I have not made so much money,” she said, highlighting how digital platforms have transformed her financial outlook.

She continued, “It’s my channel, so no OTT platform or production house is telling me ‘yeh toh kaatna hi padega‘, nor is any TV channel saying you can only bring this guest on, which I used to hate. The demarcation that this one is an A-lister and the other one is tacky – I used to hate that.”

Reports suggest that her channel’s popularity has generated substantial ad revenue and brand collaborations, making her one of the few Bollywood personalities to achieve such success outside traditional cinema.

Impact on her team and family

Farah’s cook Dilip has also benefited from the channel’s success. According to coverage by the NDTV report, Dilip’s newfound fame helped him clear heavy debts and fund his children’s education.

Farah proudly shared that her YouTube income allowed her to support his family, proving that the platform’s reach extends beyond entertainment into real‑life impact.

Digital freedom and creative control

Farah also noted that YouTube offers her creative freedom compared to television or OTT platforms, which often impose restrictions. She enjoys producing content without cuts or edits, allowing her personality to shine through.

This authenticity has resonated with viewers, fueling her rapid subscriber growth and steady income stream.
