Inside Celina Jaitly’s Explosive ₹50 Crore Case Against Husband

Celina Jaitly’s ₹50 Crore Compensation Demand Sends Shockwaves Through Bollywood

Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband, Austrian businessman Peter Haag, before a Mumbai court. The actress, known for her roles in films such as No Entry and Golmaal Returns, has sought ₹50 crore in compensation, alleging years of cruelty, manipulation, and physical abuse.

According to the petition, Jaitly has accused Haag of systematically depriving her of financial independence and dignity after their marriage in 2011. She claims he pressured her into transferring ownership of her Mumbai residence during a period of personal grief, following the loss of her newborn child and both parents in quick succession.

The actress has requested the court to order monthly maintenance of ₹10 lakh, restrain Haag from alienating shared assets, and direct the return of her jewellery and personal possessions. She has also sought an injunction preventing him from entering their shared household.

The matter was first heard on November 21 before a judicial magistrate in Andheri, who issued notice to Haag. The next hearing is scheduled for December 12.

Jaitly is represented by a legal team from Karanjawala & Co., including senior partner Sandeep Kapur, alongside Mumbai-based lawyer Arpan Rajput.

The case has drawn attention not only for the high-value compensation sought but also for its broader implications on domestic violence laws in India, highlighting the challenges faced by women in asserting financial and personal autonomy within marriage.
