On December 17, 2025, Google Labs announced a new experimental AI productivity agent called CC, designed to deliver a personalized “Your Day Ahead” briefing directly to Gmail users every morning.
The announcement, shared through Google Labs’ official channels, highlights CC as a next‑generation assistant powered by Google’s Gemini AI models.
According to FoneArena, CC connects seamlessly with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive to organize schedules, tasks, and daily priorities.
What Is CC? Google’s New AI Productivity Agent Explained
CC is built to simplify everyday planning by automatically generating a morning briefing that summarizes upcoming appointments, important tasks, reminders, and key updates. As reported by 9to5Google, CC synthesizes information from Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and even the wider web to understand a user’s day and provide actionable insights.
The agent can also prepare email drafts, generate calendar links, and help users take quick actions without switching apps.
Users can reply directly to CC’s email to correct information, add tasks, or teach preferences. CC only emails the user and cannot message others, ensuring privacy and controlled interaction.

How CC Works: Features and Daily Interaction
Google Labs explains that CC becomes more helpful over time as users interact with it. The daily briefing email includes thumbs‑up and thumbs‑down buttons for feedback, allowing CC to refine future summaries.
Users can also email CC directly using a special address format: [your‑username]+cc@gmail.com.
According to AllTechNerd, CC uses Gemini models to analyze schedules, highlight urgent tasks, and even remind users about bills, meetings, or deadlines. It can also draft follow‑up emails or prepare links for quick scheduling, making it a lightweight but powerful productivity companion.
Availability and Early Access for CC
CC is currently available only through a waitlist for users in the United States and Canada. Google Labs confirms that early access will prioritize Google AI Ultra users and paid subscribers. Interested users can sign up at labs.google/cc to join the waitlist.
As an experimental Google Labs project, CC is voluntary and not automatically enabled for Gmail users. Those who opt in must have Workspace “Smart Settings” turned on before joining the waitlist.
With its blend of automation, personalization, and Gemini‑powered intelligence, CC is shaping up to be one of Google’s most ambitious productivity tools yet.
