Hubballi: SSK Sidvirappan Pet Trust Term Concludes; Community Members Call for Fresh Elections

Special General Body Meeting.

HUBBALLI, December 22, 2025 — Tension is mounting within the SSK community in Hubballi as residents of Tumkur Galli call for the immediate resignation of the current board of the Shri SSK Sidvirappan Pet Panch Trust Committee. Despite the official five-year term of the trustees having expired on January 25, 2025, no steps have been taken to facilitate a leadership transition.

Local community members expressed growing frustration over the “constitutional vacuum” within the Trust. According to a formal petition submitted to the Trust President, the current administration has failed to convene a Special General Body Meeting (SGBM) to elect new representatives, despite being nearly eleven months past their mandated term.

“We have already submitted two formal written petitions, signed by a large number of community residents, on December 2nd and December 12th, 2025,” stated a representative for the residents. “The community has been patient, but the continued delay in calling for a meeting or accepting resignations is a disservice to the Trust’s transparency and the welfare of our people.”

Key Demands from the Community:

  •  Immediate Resignation: The submission of formal resignation letters by all current Trustees whose legal terms have concluded.
  • Urgent SGBM: The immediate announcement of a date for a Special General Body Meeting.
  • Election Transparency: The commencement of a fair and open process to select a new board of Trustees to lead the Tumkur Galli unit.

The residents have warned that if the committee fails to act promptly on these requests, further community-wide action may be taken to ensure that the Trust’s bylaws are upheld.

The SSK Sidvirappan Pet Panch Trust Committee is a vital institution for the community in Hubballi, overseeing significant social and cultural responsibilities. Residents maintain that active, legally-seated leadership is essential for the progress of the Samaj.
