Massive 130-Inch Screen: Samsung Unveils the World’s Largest MicroLED TV

The new Samsung 130-inch MicroLED TV showcased in a luxury living room setting.

Samsung redefined the home cinema experience today by unveiling a 130-inch MicroLED TV, currently the largest consumer display of its kind in the world. This massive screen utilizes modular technology to provide a seamless, bezel-less viewing area that covers nearly an entire wall. Tech enthusiasts and industry leaders witnessed the global debut during the opening keynote of the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on January 8.

Samsung 130-Inch MicroLED Technology and Performance

The 130-inch model features millions of self-illuminating inorganic LEDs that produce perfect blacks and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. Unlike traditional OLED panels, this MicroLED technology eliminates the risk of burn-in, ensuring the display maintains its color accuracy for over 100,000 hours of use.

Samsung integrated its latest AI-driven NQ8 AI Gen4 processor to upscale low-resolution content to near-8K quality in real-time. Internal reports suggest the panel boasts a 240Hz variable refresh rate, making it a viable, albeit oversized, option for high-end gaming and sports broadcasting.

Designing a screen of this scale required a new structural approach to ensure the panel remains perfectly flat across its massive surface. Samsung engineers used a sapphire substrate to enhance the durability of the tiny LEDs, resulting in a 20% increase in color volume compared to previous 110-inch models.

The audio system is equally impressive, utilizing “Object Tracking Sound Pro” technology that emits audio directly through the screen surface. This creates a truly immersive environment where the sound follows the action on the massive 130-inch canvas, removing the immediate need for external speakers in smaller theater rooms.

Price and Global Market Availability

While the company has not yet confirmed a final retail price, market analysts expect the unit to target the ultra-luxury segment. According to CNET, previous iterations of large-format MicroLED displays retailed for over $100,000, suggesting this 130-inch version will carry a similar premium.

Samsung plans to begin shipping the units to select markets in North America and Europe by the third quarter of the year. “We are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a home environment,” a Samsung display executive noted during the press conference.

Early feedback from the showroom floor highlights the “Monolith” design, which allows the TV to blend into the wall when not in use through an upgraded Ambient Mode. The TV also supports multi-view functionality, allowing users to watch four different 55-inch content streams simultaneously.

As rival manufacturers race to catch up, Samsung’s 130-inch giant sets a new benchmark for the “bigger is better” philosophy in the television industry. With energy efficiency ratings also seeing a 15% improvement, this flagship model represents the pinnacle of current display engineering. Buyers interested in the 130-inch masterpiece can begin pre-ordering through certified luxury installers starting next month.
