Belagavi district will witness a landmark cultural event as the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Museum in Nandgad will be formally inaugurated. The ceremony will also include the unveiling of a statue of the legendary freedom fighter near his samadhi by the lakeside, along with the foundation‑laying of several development projects in the region.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accompanied by Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar and other dignitaries, traveled from Bengaluru to Belagavi on a special flight to participate in the historic occasion. The events are expected to draw large crowds, reflecting the deep respect and admiration that people across Karnataka hold for Sangolli Rayanna, who is remembered as one of the earliest revolutionaries against British colonial rule.
The museum aims to preserve and showcase artifacts, documents, and stories related to Rayanna’s life and struggle, offering future generations a chance to connect with his legacy. The unveiling of the statue near his samadhi is seen as a symbolic tribute to his sacrifice and valor.
