6-Hour Power Shutdown in Hubballi Today Due to Substation Maintenance

HUBBALLI: Residents in several parts of Hubballi will face a six-hour power outage today, January 31, as the Hubli Electricity Supply Company (HESCOM) undertakes essential quarterly maintenance work.

The power supply will be interrupted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to facilitate technical upgrades at the 110/11 KV substation located on Gadag Road.

Areas to be Affected

The shutdown will impact a significant portion of the city’s industrial and residential zones, including:

Industrial & Railway Hubs: Railway Workshop, Diesel Loco Shed, and the Kiresur Drinking Water Supply Plant.

Educational Institutions: Oxford College and Capitonia School.

Residential Localities: Vinobha Nagar, Railway Colony, Saraswatipuram, Kusugal Road, Mother Theresa Colony, RC Colony, Chetana Colony 2nd Stage, Chalukya Nagar, Gandhiwada, Kanya Nagar, Vinutan Colony, and Brindavan Colony.

Rural & Peripheral Areas: Shiraguppi, Bandiwad, Mantur, and Nagarahalli.

HESCOM officials stated that the maintenance is critical for ensuring long-term grid stability and preventing unscheduled outages in the future. Citizens in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and have been requested to cooperate with the department during the scheduled work period.
