- Kusugal Road & Karwar Road: Tightening security on peripheral roads to prevent the movement of illicit goods.
- Railway Station & Bus Stand Areas: Enhanced patrolling to monitor the arrival of long-distance travelers.
Senior Officials Supervise Operations
Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar and other senior officers have been personally visiting the checkpoints to oversee the operations. During these inspections, the Commissioner provided essential guidelines to the staff on duty, emphasizing the importance of thorough inspections while ensuring minimal inconvenience to law-abiding citizens and students.
Key Objectives of the Crackdown:

- Drink and Drive Checks: Heightened vigilance during night hours to prevent road accidents and ensure commuter safety.
- Verification of Documents: Checking for valid vehicle documentation, DL, and insurance to enforce traffic discipline.
- Crime Deterrence: Increasing police visibility in sensitive areas to deter criminal elements and boost public confidence.
Advisory to Citizens
The police department has requested the cooperation of the public during these inspections. Citizens are advised to carry valid identification and vehicle documents to facilitate a smooth checking process.
