
Hubballi, February 15: On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Belgaum Member of Parliament Jagadish Shettar, along with his wife, visited the historic Shri Siddharoodh Math in Hubballi.
The couple offered special prayers and sought blessings for the well-being of the people of the region.
Speaking after the rituals, Shettar said, “Maha Shivaratri is a day of spiritual strength and renewal. We prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity for all citizens.” The math trustee Balu Magajikondi and others were also present during the occasion.
The Math witnessed a large gathering of devotees who participated in bhajans, spiritual discourses, and the sacred Rudrabhishek rituals. The head of the Math blessed the Shettar couple, encouraging them to continue their service to society.

About Jagadish Shettar
Jagadish Shivappa Shettar is a senior politician from Karnataka, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Belgaum since June 2024.
He was formerly the 21st Chief Minister of Karnataka (2012–2013) and has held several ministerial portfolios, including Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Large & Medium Industries, and Public Enterprises.
Born in Badami, Shettar began his political journey with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), serving in various leadership roles before joining the Indian National Congress in 2023.
He is also a trained lawyer, having practiced for over two decades in Hubballi’s district court. Known for his long-standing public service, Shettar remains an influential figure in Karnataka’s political landscape.
