Google CEO Sundar Pichai has sent a bold message to the world regarding India’s role in the future of artificial intelligence. Speaking at the high-profile AI Impact Summit on Wednesday, Pichai outlined a comprehensive roadmap that positions India as a primary partner in the global tech ecosystem.
The tech giant is doubling down on its commitment by launching critical infrastructure and educational tools designed to propel the nation into a new era of digital innovation. Infrastructure and Innovation in Visakhapatnam
A central pillar of this expansion is the development of a full-stack AI Hub in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam. Supported by a massive $15 billion investment in Indian infrastructure, the Vizag facility will serve as a gigawatt-scale nerve center for data processing and model training.
To ensure seamless connectivity, Google also introduced the new America-India Connect subsea cable routes. This massive underwater network increases the reach and resilience of digital traffic across four continents, linking India’s eastern coast directly to global data hubs.
By establishing this gateway, the company provides Indian developers with the lowest-latency access to the advanced Gemini family of models.

According to the ANI News Report, Pichai believes AI represents the most powerful platform shift of our lifetimes. “Our message is clear: we believe India is going to have an extraordinary trajectory with AI, and we want to be a partner,” Pichai stated.
Beyond hardware, the company is rolling out a new AI Certificate program to bridge the talent gap. A strategic partnership with Google DeepMind also aims to unlock new discoveries in science and education, ensuring that students and researchers have the tools to solve complex, real-world problems at scale.
Democratizing Technology with Multilingual Translation
Inclusivity remains a driving force behind these latest tech rollouts. Google is launching live speech-to-speech translation capabilities for over 70 languages, specifically targeting the diverse linguistic landscape of the Indian subcontinent.
Such tools allow farmers, students, and healthcare professionals to interact with cutting-edge AI in their native tongues. This move aligns with the national vision of “Sarvajana Hitaya,” ensuring that the benefits of high-speed connectivity and intelligent computing reach every citizen.
