Nintendo is once again opening its treasure chest of retro games. On March 10, 2026, three classic titles will join the Nintendo Switch Online service, giving fans a chance to relive memories and discover gems from the past.
Virtual Boy Classics Return
For many gamers, the Virtual Boy was a curious experiment from Nintendo in the mid-1990s. While the console itself struggled, a few of its games became cult favorites. Now, two of those titles are making a comeback for Nintendo Switch Online members:
- Mario’s Tennis™ – A lighthearted sports game where Mario and friends take to the court. Known for its simple controls and fun character animations, it was one of the most played Virtual Boy titles.
- Mario Clash™ – A unique platformer that challenged players with 3D-style stages. It stood out as one of the few original experiences on the Virtual Boy and remains a nostalgic pick for fans.
Bringing these games to the Switch marks the first time many players will get to enjoy them without owning the rare Virtual Boy hardware.
Three classic titles are coming to #NintendoSwitch2 and #NintendoSwitch on March 10.

Game Boy Advance Addition
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will also receive a new Game Boy Advance classic. While Nintendo has yet to reveal the exact title, the addition continues the steady growth of the GBA library on the service. Past updates have included fan favorites like The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap and Mario Kart: Super Circuit, so expectations are high.
Nostalgia Meets Modern Play
This update shows Nintendo’s commitment to preserving its history while keeping the Switch library fresh. By reviving Virtual Boy games, Nintendo is not only appealing to long-time fans but also introducing younger players to titles they may have never experienced.
With the Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon, these retro releases highlight how Nintendo blends nostalgia with innovation. March 10 will be a day for fans to celebrate both the past and the future of gaming.
